What a strange year 2020 has been so far with the Coronavirus also known as Covid-19. I’m sure we’re all sick of even hearing those words as we are flooded with news on a daily bases from all angles. Many people have been reaching out to me wondering how the market has been affected by this Global Pandemic. The first few weeks were very inactive with uncertainty in the air. That being said, since the beginning of May, things have picked up quite significantly. The overall numbers are still down with regards to previous years sales trends, active listings, etc.. but on the micro scale, things are picking up drastically. Myself, along with many other agents I’m in contact with, have been quite swamped with opportunities over the last few weeks. As of today, May 20/2020, it seems as though people are getting confidence back and looking to get the ball rolling with plans to purchase and sell in 2020. After all, it’s hard to ignore the current interest rates. If you’re looking to list.. yes, homes are selling daily. If you’re looking to buy… yes there are plenty of opportunities out there. We are quite fortunate to be in Saskatchewan where we’ve been proactive in flattening the curve of this virus. We anticipate continual growth in business for months to come, hoping to finish the year very strong with sales activity.
We must continue to do our part in adapting to the ‘new norm’. This means being considerate to others and continuing business with extra precaution (please reach out to ask about our new business protocol). It’ll take some time for many to shake off the fear… but that we must do. One thing to remember… we are all in this together and this too shall pass.
